10 Creative Instagram Accounts You Should Be Following

Every now and then you're likely to get bored of your Instagram feed and need a bunch of new accounts to follow. I've made a list of "creative influencers" whose profiles I love looking at so if you're in need of some fresh accounts to follow, hopefully these are the ones for you.

These accounts are all just profiles I enjoy looking at on my feed, not necessarily anything to do with my lifestyle or own accounts and they're all pretty different. I think it's always good to follow a wide range of people because it just makes life more interesting and you never know what crazy shit you're gonna see that you didn't know you needed to see 'til it happened.

I'm aware the term "creative accounts" is pretty broad but that's because I want to recommend a wide range of types of account including artists, photography/travel accounts, tattoo artists and maybe some other stuff too.

The accounts I'm posting on here are all ones I love but not I'm not trying to be biased, I've picked these specific 10 because I think they improve the average Instagram feed and I'm guessing that's why you're here. They all have a good vibe about them and make you see something that is just interesting or nice to look at which is kind of the whole point of Instagram I think.

I'm gonna start with the Artists/Illustrators because that's my profession and probably the type of account I follow most, then I'll just phase into tattoo artists, photographers and then whatever else happens I guess.

1. @jhon_boy

Worth a follow purely for the grid layout he has going on.
Sick artwork with a sick message basically, what more could you ask for?
He's an illustrator with a very distinct (and cool) style which makes his work instantly recognisable on your homepage. I've been following for 2 or 3 years and I still recognise his posts as his because they're so consistent which is nice, especially with the new Instagram algorithms where chaos reigns amongst the feeds. The best thing is that the illustrations he posts generally have a deep message within that makes you actually think about shit. I find that it's kind of rare I see something on Instagram and I'm like "0.o woahhh" but some of his posts proper get you thinking while still enjoying the visuals which is a nice combo.

Would recommend to anyone who's into simple but effective artwork. His account also includes personal pictures here and there which is a nice touch.

2. @hazel.mead

One for all the feminists out there (which should be everyone).
Hazel is a feminist illustrator with a positive vibes only kind of feed.

Her Instagram is refreshing af because, while she posts different types of image (illustrations, photos, collabs) she has an overlying theme within all her works which is positivity (of the mind, body and soul) and feminism/equality. Her account is like a protest to misogyny but done is the most visually pleasing way possible.
If you're the type of person who wants a confidence boost or a mini hype up when you're scrolling through your feed in the morning, this is the account for you.

3. @prefuk_

Similarly to jhon_boy this account is very recognisable by style, and it's another sick one. Mainly posting illustrations but the odd skating video (a cool extra). prefuk_ is going to make you wanna pick up your pen and doodle the shit out of something.
I could look through this account for hours because like.. this guys mind is next level. A wild imagination is one of the best things in the world and the way these illustrations are so simple but so wild is what makes me pretty obsessed with this account.
If you want a daily dose of "wtf that's sick" then get following.

4. @wandergasm

I wanted to add some photographers in here and travel photography is without a doubt my go-to relaxant if I'm feeling stressed or just want to see something nice.
This account will not disappoint for that purpose, with pictures of all these mad places around the world that you'll immediately add to your bucket list.
To draw you in further, the captions often come with a would you rather question or something to get you involved which is a nice extra to have when you're just aimlessly scrolling.

Another cool thing about wandergasm is that the creator appears in the posts from time to time so it's cool to know who's creating the content you're enjoying.

Also mad props to Charles for the actual photography because it's incredible, not to mention the editing that he's got going on. Massively worth a follow but be warned, you'll be booking plane tickets tomorrow. I mean... look at those mountains. >

5. @tokyo106

So I actually discovered this completely by accident as I was taking screenshots to make this post, and I'm so glad I did.
I'm not really sure how to describe this type of photography so I won't try but I love it because it's just like... real. It seems so natural but it's so good that you can see the skill that's gone into taking and editing the pictures. That's why I like, and am recommending, this account.
The lighting especially is just a vibe (never said that before and won't be again but there was no other way to get my point across). It's just a cool account to have pop up on your feed for a photo that looks sick but also has a real life feel to it.

6. @colorsxstudios

Moving towards some music even though just the visuals of this account are enough to make you addicted. Anyway, the music is actually why we're here... Colors is a unique aesthetic music platform showcasing exceptional talent from all around the globe, focused on promoting the most distinctive new artists and original sounds.
I didn't want to mess up describing them so I took that from their YouTube and I can testify it is 1000% accurate. It's a great account because they post a lot of previews to their full videos on YouTube.Perfect for when you're just chilling and you're in the mood to hear some sick tunes or stumble across a new artist you didn't know of. Personally, I have discovered so many of my now favourite artists through their Instagram and YouTube (including Amine >). The addition of an insane and on trend af aesthetic is just a huge added bonus. Look at the COLOUR in this picture.

7. @aim3y

I guess I'd describe this account as cool special effect makeup. This girl is comes up with some awesome ideas for special effects and illusions using (I'm assuming) face paints and makeup.
I've added this one to the list because it's a bit different from everything else and this account is way under-appreciated. I also think it's the kind of thing people like to follow because it just genuinely draws your attention and is a cool thing to see.

8. @makoto_horimatsu

My favourite tattoo account on Instagram. I fvcking love Japanese style tattoos and these ones have so much character. I just don't understand how you wouldn't enjoy looking at these images because they are fascinating. A combination of tattoos, illustrations and apparel make this account the full package for me. I can tell within a second that I'm looking at a Makoto Horimatsu picture when I see one on my homepage because the style is sooo distinctive and so creative. Especially the little frogs that get posted quite often doing some crazy shit. 10/10

9.  @thepsycheguide

This account is just a mindfvck which is why I am obsessed with it. It's a combination of photography/edits and illustrations or collages. All of them are trippy or spiritual af and it's just such a cool account to have randomly pop up with some mad shit. They feature a load of artists and stuff on there as well which is cool.
The pictures range from just trippy coolness, to kind of sexual stuff to some drug related images but you don't have to be into that kind of lifestyle to appreciate the art. It's just a nice change from the standard selfies and normal content that shows up on your homepage.

10. @eddyelsey

This one is more of a lifestyle/inspiration account I suppose but it's in this list because the actual posts are extremely visually creative. I would recommend this account to someone who wants an intense dose of spiritual content or empowering inspiration every now and then. Saying that, I'm pretty sure I originally followed because of the cool pictures Eddy posts but ended up sticking around for the intense but provocative captions.
The coolest thing about this account is that I get a strong feeling that the guy behind it is legit, not just some "peace guru" who posts fake pictures of themselves meditating. He seems to genuinely be confident in his mindfulness and want to help others think about themselves and help guide his followers. That sounded so culty but I didn't mean it like that lol.
Anyway go see for yourself and you'll see why your feed will benefit from giving him a follow.

Hopefully you found something you like on this list of some of my favourite accounts. If you like these then you'll probably like mine too and can go see some weird art or pictures of my (cute af) dog at @jonabbott04 and @illustrajon
